In a really entertaining and very even cup final the favourites, Bagenalstown had a really tough job overcoming an in form Burrin Celtic.

Celtic started the stronger and created most of the early chances in the first half.

In fact it took a brilliant save by their keeper from a superb header from Conor Cummins to keep it at 0-0 mid way through the first half. From then on it was much more even as the town team began to assert themselves on the game.

The second half started as the first finished with both teams playing some great football, the play switching from end to end. Bagenalstown began to assert the pressure on the Celtic defence and had some great shots either saved by the Burrin keeper or some just off target. Bagenalstown finished the half really strongly but the Burrin defence worked really hard and held on to force extra time.

It looked bad for Celtic at this time but to their credit the 20 minutes of extra time was played from end to end with both teams having chances to snatch victory.

But it finished 0-0 and the dreaded penalty shootout was upon us.

Bagenalstown won the shoot out 3-2.

This was a fantastic Cup Final and a real credit to both teams. Best for Burrin Celtic in a great team performance were Conor Cummins, Jim Nolan, Barry Ryan and Adam Feeney.

Vale Wanderers 0 - Burrin Celtic 1

This game was a worthy cup semi-final match with both teams playing some great football. In the first half Celtic started brighter put could not make early possession pay. Vale soon got into their stride and this match became end to end with both teams giving their all to find the breakthrough. Both defences were playing superb and restricted the forwards to very few clear cut chances. Adam Feeney and Sam Meaney both went close for Burrin and Jim Nolan in goal ably handled everything Vale threw at him.

Half time 0-0.

The second half was more of the same entertaining football: strong tackling, brave defending, everything you would expect in such an important match. Neither team wanted to lose at this stage. It looked as if 1 goal would settle it with real chances at a premium. Vale went very close mid way through the half but the ball went just past the post. Ryan Hollick picked up a loose ball from a corner for Burrin and twice Vale defenders blocked his shots, but his pass then found Sam Meaney who fired home to give Burrin a 1-0 lead with 15 minutes left in the match. Vale battled gamely to find an equalizer, but determined defending kept them out. Rory O' Connor and Adam Feeney also went close for Celtic late

on as they tried to make sure of victory. Burrin Celtic held out to reach the under 14 cup final on a 1-0 scoreline over a brave Vale Wanderers.

Best for Burrin Celtic in a brilliant team performance were Conor Cummins, Ryan Hollick, Mikie Slattery and Sam Meaney.

St Josephs 1 - Burrin Celtic 6

In a really entertaining cup quarter final, Burrin got off to a flying start and they were rewarded when Adam Feeney scored after 5 minutes. Celtic kept up the pressure and Feeney scored a fantastic goal from the edge of the box after 15 minutes to put Burrin Celtic 2 goals up. Josephs got into it after that and finished the half strongly, but Celtic defending well held on to their 2 goal lead to the half time whistle.

Josephs came out strongly after the break and tried to hit back, but Celtic's defence working really hard kept them at bay. Jim Nolan, Celtic's keeper made some good saves during St Josephs best spell also. Then a Rory O' Connor goal from a very tight angle after rounding the keeper put Celtic 3 up. Adam Feeney got his hat trick to put Burrin Celtic 4 goals to the good.

A battling St Josephs pulled a goal back to make it 4-1. Doran Traylor then scored with a neat finish to put Celtic 5-1 up and Ryan Clarke finished off a great Burrin move in style to give Celtic a 6-1 victory over a very brave St Josephs side.

Best for Burrin Celtic were Jim Nolan (goalkeeper), Joseph Holden, Darragh Quinn, Jack Ryan and Conor Cummins.

Parkville 3 - Burrin Celtic 8

In a thrilling game played at Hawkins Lane it was Burrin Celtic who started best and they put pressure on Parkville right from the off. Celtic's hard work paid off and Sam Meaney put them 1 up after 5 minutes. Rory O' Connor made it 2-0 from the penalty spot in the 10th minute. Jack Ryan scored a screamer from long range to put Celtic 3 up and Sam Meaney scored his 2nd late in the half

to put celtic 4-0 up at the break.

The second half was even more thrilling than the first with Parkville pulling a goal back early in the half. But a Joseph Holden goal put Celtic 5-1 up and when Ryan Clarke got on the score sheet Celtic were 6-1 in front. Parkville pulled one back to make it 6-2 and then Ryan Clarke scored again to make it 7-2. But Parkville never gave up and scored again to make it 7-3 and then Rory

O' Connor put the finishing touches on a fine display with a goal right on full time to give Celtic a thrilling 8-3 victory.

Best for Celtic were Barry Ryan, Conor Cummins, Darragh Quinn and Mikie Slattery.

It took the home team a long time to get into this game as Ballymurphy started strongly, but as the half wore on Celtic started to play the more composed football. Doran Traylor went close with a great shot just tipping the crossbar before going over. Then he won a penalty which Rory O' Connor dispatched to the net to give Celtic a 1-0 lead at the break.

Burrin upped the tempo in the second half and a great ball from Ryan Hollick set up Adam Feeney to score. Feeney scored again soon after to put Celtic 3 up.

Rory O' Connor added his 2nd and Burrin Celtic's 4th late on to give Celtic all 3 points.

Best for Burrin Celtic in a great team performance were Doran Traylor, Sam Meaney, Ryan Hollick and Conor Cummins.

St Josephs 2 - Burrin Celtic 1

In a hugely entertaining match it was the away side, Burrin Celtic who started the strongest with Evan Fitzsimmons, Conor Quinn and Jack Ryan all going close for the visitors. But well into the half Celtic were caught at the back and went in at the break a goal down.

Celtic were back in it early in the second half with a great passing move from which Evan Fitzsimmons finished to the net. Celtic were again caught out from a corner when a good header put St Josephs 2-1 up. Burrin Celtic battled for the equalizer and Rory O' Connor went close late in the half. Celtic's keeper Jim Nolan pulled off a superb one handed save from a great shot from Joey's Gavin Power late on.

Celtic tried hard but St Josephs battled bravely and held on to win 2-1.

Best for Celtic were Darragh Quinn, Evan Fitzsimmons, and Mikie Slattery.

Derry Rovers 0 - Burrin Celtic 3

In a very entertaining game it was Burrin Celtic who started the quickest and Ryan Hollick finished a great move with a lovely chip over the keeper to give Celtic the lead in the 5th minute. It was nip and tuck for a while, but Rovers finished the half stronger and were unlucky not to equalize before the break.

Celtic were a different team in the second half and even a missed penalty did not put them off. Rory O' Connor made amends by blasting in his 2nd penalty of the game mid way through the half and then added his 2nd goal to give Burrin a 3 goal cushion with 15 minutes left.

Adam Feeney, Mikie Slattery and Jack Dunphy also went close to scoring for Celtic late on but it finished 3-0 to Burrin Celtic.

Best For Burrin Celtic were Mikie Slattery, Ryan Hollick, Adam Feeney and Connor Cummins.

Despite the score line Celtic were in this match for a long time, one down midway through the first half, they were battling for an equalizer but were hit late in the half and were 2 down at the break.

Again Celtic tried hard in the second half but New Oak were in fine form and scored 4 more in the second half (one an unfortunate O.G. late on) to run out worthy winners.

Best For Burrin Celtic were Mikie Slattery, Darragh Quinn, Conor Quinn and Joseph Holden.

Bagenalstown 1 - Burrin Celtic 1

Burrin Celtic pulled off a surprise result in this tough uncompromising encounter.

The town team had a lot of possession in the first half but Burrin Celtic defended brilliantly and kept Bagenalstown at bay.

Burrin themselves had a great chance to score when Adam Feeney made a great break but was unable to score. Half time score: 0-0.

In was more of the same in the second half but Burrin Celtic with a great passing move put Adam Feeney in the clear and he put the ball brilliantly into the top corner of the net to put Celtic 1 up.

Bagenalstown then threw everything at Celtic and pulled level with 15 minutes to go.

But Celtic did not give in and even under severe pressure made tackle after tackle to keep it at 1-1.

Celtic had another good chance late on to steal it but were very happy to take a point in this very entertaining game.

This was the proverbial game of 2 halves, Burrin Celtic started brilliantly and were two up early on with goals from Rory O' Connor and Adam Feeney.

Celtic were on top all through the half and Jack Ryan put them 3 up and then

Rory O' Connor scored from a free kick to put Celtic 4 up just before the break.

It was a different story in the 2nd half with Vale producing a storming comeback. They had the score at 4 goals to 3 mid way through the half.

Celtic went back to their passing game and tried to make the game safe late on but Vale were not going to be breached again.

Burrin Defended determinedly near the end and held on for a hard fought away win with the scoreline at 4 goals to 3 at the end.

Best for Burrin Celtic were Conor Cummins, Jack Dunphy, Mikie Slattery and Ryan Clarke.

Despite the score line this was really a very entertaining match.

While Celtic had a lot of possession they just could not make it pay.

Ryan Hollick , Rory O' Connor and Evan Fitzsimmons all went close in the first half.

In the second half Burrin tried hard to make the break through but the Pat's keeper made some great saves keeping out Adam Feeney and Jack Ryan.

St Pats defended well all through the game and could have nicked it late on but the Burrin keeper Jim Nolan made a fine finger tip save.

So it was honours even at the end as the match ended scoreless.

Possession wise this game was even enough but St Pats were very clinical

New Oak Boys 1 - Burrin Celtic 0

Despite the low scoreline this was really a very entertaining match with both teams playing some great football. New Oak started brightly and were a goal up after about mines.

But Celtic worked really hard and were battling in every area of the pitch and went in at the break just a goal down.

It was every bit as tough in the 2nd Half and Burrin Celtic's Adam Feeney playing as a lone striker with lots of support from the wingers were giving the New Oak defence a few problems.

New Oak were doing a lot of attacking themselves but Burrin Celtic's defence and keeper Jim Nolan kept them at bay.

With both midfields keeping the ball on the deck and playing some great passing football this game was a credit to both teams.

In a superb team performance best for Burrin Celtic were Barry Ryan, Jack Ryan, Adam Feeney, Rory O' Connor and Darragh Quinn.

Slaney Rovers 0 - Burrin Celtic 6

This was a very entertaining game with both teams playing some very good football.

Rovers started well but it was Celtic who took an early lead when Joseph Holden scored from just inside the box after a corner. Celtic played well defensively and held this lead to the break.

The game opened up in the second half and Burrin Celtic were 2 up when Adam Feeney scored in the 12th minute.

After another good move Mikie Slattery made it 3-0 .

Celtic had their tails up and were playing really well at this stage and Rory

O' Connor added their 4th and then Jack Ryan scored a screamer from outside the box to make it 5-0 to Celtic. Adam Feeney scored again (his 2nd) from the edge of the box to give Burrin Celtic a 6-0 win.

To their credit Slaney Rovers never stopped battling and Celtic had to work hard to keep their first clean sheet of the season.

In a very exciting game in Clonegal it was Christmas present time in the first half.

After 20 minutes an OG after a mix up in the Celtic defence put Rovers a goal up and 10 minutes later it was an OG from a Rovers player that had it level at the break.

The second have was end to end also but Burrin took the lead well into the half

when Jack Ryan scored a screamer into the top of the net.

Rovers battled back but Celtic finished really strongly and Rory O' Connor, Adam Feeney and Evan Fitzsimmons added late goals for Celtic to give them a 5-1 victory.

Burrin Started slowly and were a goal down after 4 minutes.

Pats had the better of things in the first half but only led 1-0 at the break.

Celtic were 3 down ten minutes into the second half however then Pats had a real purple patch midway through the 2nd half and 2 great goals (one a long range effort ) from Evan Fitzsimmons put Burrin right back in it at 3 goals to 2 with 10 minutes left.

However as they pushed forward for the equaliser it was St Pats who scored on the break to make it 4-2.

It was a very entertaining game with some great football from both sides, but St Pats were deserving 4-2 winners.

Playing with the wind Burrin Celtic started the stronger side against a brave St Josephs.

Defender Shane Ryan gave the home side the lead early on and Rory O' Connor put Burrin 2 up mid way through the first half.

Evan Fitzsimmons put Celtic 3 up very early in the 2nd half and Adam Feeney scored after a great run.

Late in the half, St Josephs battled away and were rewarded with a goal late on.

But it was a fine team performance from Burrin Celtic and they ran out 4-1 winners.

In a very entertaining game with both sides playing great football it was Burrin who started the better when Adam Feeney put the home side up in the 7th minute. Parkville equalised mid way through the half.

Celtic finished strongly with goals from Evan Fitzsimmons and Adam Feeney again giving them a 3-1 lead at the break.

Parkville scored very early in the second half and equalised mid way through the half.

Both teams had chances to win it but a draw was a fair result in the end.
