Seniors Win Cup in Style!!!

Burrin Celtic Seniors won the Martin Mullin's Memorial Cup on Friday evening in Hawkin's Lane, Tullow against St. Fiaccs. It was a tense and tight game but Celtic were well geared up and hit Fiaccs hard from the start. Burrin pushed forward but a well organised St. Fiaccs defence kept them scoreless in normal time. Early in extra time Burrin were rewarded when a long throw from Darren Moore found Paul Finn who headed the ball into the back of the net from close range. Burrin held out well throughout the remainder of extra time and celebrations began on the sidelines as Burrin Celtic had won their first major honour in four years. The man of the match trophy was awarded to Burrin's Padraig George and the cup was presented to Burrin's captain Donncha Murphy. Congratulations to all on a hard earned and a well deserved team success.
